OneDeerPark Offering Free Meals

Deer Park Families:

As you may know from previous releases, we are serving breakfast/lunch to our students over the next three weeks on Monday - Friday at Amity Elementary. Those that receive free/reduced lunch will continue to receive those and other students are able to purchase breakfast and lunch like they typically have the option to do. The library is also serving dinners from 4pm - 5pm at the Deer Park Library.

However, we know that there are still some needs. There may be families impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak who will need support but didn't necessarily qualify for free/reduced lunch at the beginning of the school year. There will also be a need over the weekends when we aren't serving lunch.

With that in mind, OneDeerPark is working in conjunction with Deer Park Schools to offer free lunch packs as needed for families of Deer Park and the surrounding area, whether they have children in the school district or not.

Families will be able to pick up single-day food packs seven (7) days per week, from 10:30 a.m.-noon at Rivers Crossing Community Church (3850 E. Galbraith Rd.). Please remember that this is in addition to breakfast/lunch being served at Amity Elementary Monday - Friday specifically for students attending the Deer Park Community School District.

Finally, anyone wishing to donate items for these packs can do so by dropping off items listed below at Rivers Crossing Community Church. For more information, contact Jake Snyder at snyder.j@dpccsd.org.
