District Strategic Planning

Deer Park Community City School District is reaching out to all community members to help the district develop a plan for the future that will set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, and ensure that employees and stakeholders are working toward common goals. This process will ensure the community and school officials can establish agreement around intended outcomes, and assess and adjust the organization’s direction in response to an ever changing environment that puts children and student learning at the center. This process, strategic planning, will ensure our school will meet the needs of our students and community.

"I am very excited for our district to begin the Strategic Planning process.  I've been conducting listening sessions since August as well soliciting feedback through surveys and I am thrilled with the feedback we've gathered so far.  While it's clear we are doing a lot of great things here in Deer Park, there is still a lot of work to be done.  I'm looking forward to working alongside our great staff, students, parents, community members, and business leaders to develop a strategic plan that will continue moving Deer Park forward over the next five years." - Jay Phillips, Superintendent

Community input is essential to the process. Parents and community members are encouraged and invited to become involved in this process. A survey seeking opinions and priorities from everyone in the community has been available since August, and will be open until the end of the year (Dec. 31). Access it HERE. There will also be both invited and open-invitation focus groups at various times and locations. The focus group meetings are as follows:

  1. Invite Only Focus Group: Monday, February 12th @ 6:30pm at the Howard Building
  2. Open Focus Group Meeting: Tuesday, February 13th @ 2:00pm at the Howard Building
  3. Open Focus Group Meeting: Tuesday, February 13th @ 6:30pm at the Howard Building

We look forward to collaborating with you as we plan for our future.
