The Counseling and College & Career Readiness Department at Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School seeks to assist students and families by providing supportive services and post-high school planning.

These services support the areas of social-emotional development, student academics, and College/Career Readiness (CCR) and planning.This site will provide our students and families with various tools to help navigate a students' education through 7th - 12th grade and beyond.

February Was Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month - Help us to get need info and resources out to our students.  Click HERE for more resource information and HERE for an information booklet on Project AWARE. 

CCR Conferences and ACT Scores:  Our winter Student-Lead Conferences are coming up on March 2nd and 3rd.  Please be on the lookout for an online scheduler.  Part of that night will be review your students ACT Aspire scores; these were administered to students in grades 7 - 10.  Click HERE for a pamphlet on how to interpret these results.

The Super Saturday Program is organized to provide enrichment for those students who have been identified as gifted and/or are looking to expand and enrich their growth.  Click HERE for information about this program.

Thriving Learning Communities comes to Deer Park!  TLC (Thriving Learning Communities) is a strengths-based character education program that will be incorporated into our Junior High Xbells.  Along with having students spend some time on Happify, our students will learn ways to improve upon core strengths that we all have.  This is one of the many activities DP is doing to focus on it's district goal of character development.  Click HERE to watch a video that will give you more info about TLC! Miami University Summer Scholars Program

Miami University Summer Scholars Program
Session I: July 2-14, 2017
Session II: July 16-28, 2017

Miami's Summer Scholars Program provides a rich, early college experience for academically talented rising high school juniors and seniors from across the globe. Students will join an engaged community of learners for an intense, two-week program on Miami’s campus exploring a topic of their choice with an acclaimed Miami faculty member. Participants who later choose to apply to Miami will also receive priority consideration for Miami merit scholarships and the University’s premier academic programs — the University Honors Program and the University Academic Scholars Program. The University is pleased to offer a limited number of full scholarships for the Summer Scholars Program to academically talented students with financial need who apply and are accepted to the program.  All application materials must be received by May 1, 2017.  See your CCR counselor for more information.

TAP MD’s mission is to seek and find “untapped” talented high school students to increase the number of future Tristate physicians, throughout the Greater Cincinnati area including both urban and rural regions. Info can be found at

Ohio colleges and universities are having special programs for students and families to get to know their programs better.  Colleges also send reps to school to present to our students.  The fall 2016 visits are done, so watch here for when our 2017 list will be posted; you can also find it on Naviance!
