After several years of work by the dedicated Hamilton County Educational Service Center (HCESC) Early Childhood Staff and Leadership Team, Deer Park Community City School District is happy to announce the Holmes Early Childhood Center was awarded a 5-Star rating by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).
A big congratulations to Mr. Pat Ormond (Amity, 6th Grade)! He received the Outstanding Recycling Educator award from Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste.
We want parents to have the most updated grades at the time grades are entered, so we will no longer be sending home hard copies of midterm grades.

Last week, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) released their annual report card grading all school districts across the State of Ohio. The Ohio School Report Card measures six different components. To help you gain a better understanding of each component, we are going to send out a series of releases to summarize each component and the measures they include.

New after school club for 9-11th graders
The district wants to ensure our community’s voice is heard regarding Ohio’s implementation of ESSA. The Ohio Department of Education will be hosting several ESSA stakeholder meetings – with one in Cincinnati scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Thursday, Sept. 29.
The Pop-Up museum was a great success and will hopefully become a traditional part of the AP Language course.

Today, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) released the 2015-16 school report cards. The report card being issued mainly reflects students’ performances on last year’s end of course exams for grades 3 - 12. In the past three years, students have taken three different state tests. The Cleveland Plain Dealer examines ODE’s new ratings and grading techniques.
As you may know, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) will be releasing the 2015/2016 State Report Card on Thursday, September 15. Over the next two weeks, we will be sending out a series of emails explaining each component of the report card to help you better understand what each component means.
