HCESC Preschool vs Head Start vs Preschool Connections

Deer Park partners with Hamilton County Educational Service Center (HCESC) to provide HCESC preschool education and Head Start to Deer Park families.

Class size:

  • AM: 12 children
  • PM: 12 children

Children

  • An integrated program with six children who
    are typically developing and six children with
    an identified disability.

Class size:

  • Full-day: 18 children
  • Deer Park Residents with children ages 2-5
  • A FREE Preschool class for parent/adult and child once a week beginning 9/4 and 9/5
     

Hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:30-11:00 AM or 12:15-2:45 PM
  • Fridays will be individually scheduled home visits, parent conferences, staff collaboration, planning and in-service.

  • Typical children: $50 deposit and $100/ month
  • Children with an IEP: Free

  • ALL Children must be income eligible. There is a weighted system for enrollment.
  • Weighted status includes: Children at 100% of poverty get first priority, children 4 years old get priority over 3 year olds

  • Children with a disability: Call Phyllis Davis, Deer Park School Psychologist 936-5923 or email davis.p@dpccsd.org. Students with a suspected disability MUST register with the district.
  • ALL children must have a birth certificate to be enrolled

  • Visit hcescheadstart.org to pre-enroll
  • Parents will be asked to come to the ELP building on Waycross Road in Forest Park to complete the enrollment process.
