This mission leads to the five fundamentally sound district goals:
Heart of instruction- to work with the social emotional well-being of students.
Engaged parents/business/community- to communicate with all stakeholders,
Academic achievement- to prepare all students academically,
Responsive learning environment- to provide a safe, nurturing environment, and
Taxes well spent- to always be good stewards of the taxpayers' money.
The mission of educating all students is at the heart of every decision. With these sound building blocks in place, the employees used data action steps to move the district towards "Excellent".
The four core actions included: alignment of the curriculum to state standards; collaboration among all staff K-12; professional development in instructional strategies; and, communications with all stakeholders. These action steps were further developed by each individual building. Deer Park students are fortunate to have the strength of these positive, highly qualified, well-trained staff and the support of their parents and community to guide them to their many successes.
As a district and community we must continually strive for improvements, because with improvement, comes progress. Working together we will enhance that improvement and grow our reputation as being a quality, progressive district. It has been proven that the more you become involved in the schools, the more "Wildcat Pride" you will share.
