TRAINING: Active Shooter Trainer at Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School

Dear Deer Park Families and Staff:

The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priority at Deer Park Schools. We work collaboratively with the City of Deer Park, Silverton, and Sycamore Township year-round in all aspects of protecting the schools in our community.

On Wednesday, July 13, as a part of our on-going commitment to student and staff safety, the Deer Park Police Department and surrounding agencies will complete an Active Shooter Training at the Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School. This intensive training exercise will help local responders prepare for a potential “active shooter” scenario in a school building.

The details of the active shooter simulation are not being disclosed for authenticity. Residents should not be alarmed by the presence of emergency response vehicles at the Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School. The training will look and sound real, but it is completely simulated.

While the training takes place, the entire Jr./Sr. campus will be closed from 7 AM - 5 PM. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call Dr. Stace Orso, Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School Principal, at 513.891.0100. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jeff Langdon, Superintendent, Deer Park Schools
Dr. Stace Orso, Principal, Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School
Chief Michael Schlie, Deer Park Police Department
Officer Dave Battin, Deer Park Police Department
