Why did you become an educator?
I love to find ways to be creative, have fun and see great impact whenever I apply myself. Teaching lets me do all three! I especially love first grade because it is a year of tremendous growth for students, which is so rewarding!
What do you like best about Deer Park?
I love the Deer Park families, staff and community! I am so happy to come to Holmes every day and see wonderful people who are making a great, positive impact in the community right around them.
What is your favorite Deer Park tradition? Why?
I really love the Veteran's Day program that second grade does every year. It is such a neat way to involve the community and teach the children the meaning behind the holiday. Before coming to Deer Park, I had never seen students so young honor our troops and veterans in such a powerful way.
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be doing?
I would probably be a stay-at-home mom to my two girls.
What do you like to do in your spare time? What are some of your hobbies?
Any day of the week, it is likely that you will find me at Jazzercise. I also love any type of craft, especially painting. I spend a lot of my spare time with my kids, trying new activities together and going to lots of fun places.
What’s your favorite movie/book/restaurant?
Movie: Currently it would probably be Gravity.
Book: I am still in love with The Hunger Games series.
Restaurant: I love going to new places and trying different things, so I don't think I have a favorite.
Favorite quote or personal motto.
