Why did you become an educator?
During my time in school I had teachers who believed in me, who encouraged me, who never gave up on me and helped me see my full potential. These are the teachers who sparked the passion in my heart to do the same thing for others and I have a desire to impact my students in these same ways. Every day is a chance to impact a child, put a smile on their face and teach them something that could change their life.
What do you like best about Deer Park?
Deer Park is a one of a kind community that has been a tremendous place to work. The community, staff and administrators have always been extremely supportive. It is great to work in a tight knit community where I consistently feel encouraged by everyone!
What is your favorite Deer Park tradition? Why?
My favorite Deer Park tradition is the Homecoming Parade every fall. I have loved participating in the parade with all of the staff, seeing all of the community come out to line the streets and throw candy to students and families!
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be doing?
If I was not a teacher, I would love to be an interior designer. My secret dream is to be just like Joanna Gaines from the HGTV show Fixer Upper!
What do you like to do in your spare time? What are some of your hobbies?
In my spare time I love to be outdoors with my family, exploring parks, biking, hiking and playing soccer. On the weekends I also enjoy assisting my twin sister photographing weddings.
What’s your favorite movie/book/restaurant?
- My favorite movie is Fireproof
- My favorite book is “Captivating” by John and Stasi Eldridge.
