The RED ZONE: A Fitness and Nutrition Club

New after school club for 9-11th graders

This year, the Deer Park Schools Nutrition Department is introducing the RED ZONE. The RED ZONE is a new after school club available to 9th and 10th grade students. This club will focus on lifelong nutrition and fitness strategies to help RED ZONE members perform at their peak levels.

The RED ZONE will meet October through November after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The group will meet directly after school for 90 minutes, with 20-25 minutes on nutrition and 45 minutes on fitness. The club will meet in the Career Center and finish in the state-of-the-art strength and conditioning room.

The nutrition portion will focus on smart tips in today’s fast paced lifestyle, including talks by community experts on weight loss success stories, smart fast food choices, cooking demos, and much more!

The RED ZONE goal is to finish the first series with the Jingle Bell 5K Run.

Interested students should go see Corrie Madden in the counselor office.
