Cincinnati Bell Social Media Networking Presentation to Deer Park 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and Parents

Cincinnati Bell Social Media Networking Presentation to Deer Park 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and Parents

On May 10th, students in the 6th - 8th grades, during the school day, will be participating in a presentation by Stephen Smith, Director of Educational Leadership from Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions.   Smith's presentation, a free outreach to local schools and parents has been given to more than 115,000 and talks about the power of digital technology and social media.

As the children and young adults in our district have smart phones, tablets, personal computers, Cincinnati Bell sponsors an education program for middle school students and their parents to provide information and advice on the responsible use of personal devices.  The one-hour presentation focuses on three common technology issues confronting young people: sexting, online privacy and cyber-bullying.  Today's youth have an unbridled desire to let people know everything about what's going on in their lives, which can have serious consequences. During his presentation, Smith reminds students that while mistakes in life are often forgotten, the Internet never forgets.

On May 10th at 7:00 p.m. the Deer Park PTO will be hosting a Parent session, for ALL Deer Park Parents, with Steve Smith in the PDC Room at the Howard Building.  As parents, it's important we understand how to help our kids use the devises responsibly as well.

Please join the PTO on Wednesday, May 10th at 7:00 p.m., in the PDC Room, for the Social Media Networking Presentation.  All parents are welcome!
