District honors 16 nominees for award from Hamilton County Education Foundation

Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School students, under the guidance of government teacher Shannon Wilkerson found their own way to stand in support of the victims of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School following the act of violence on Feb. 14.

The students of the DP Band Program--grades 6-12--will provide the music for a giant game of musical chairs. When the music stops, participants sit down in a numbered chair and if your number is called you have won a CAKE!

The night is a unique event planned by students, for students, which raises money for pediatric cancer research, according to the CancerFree Kids website, which plays host for the event.

Shirts can be purchased for $10 for sizes S to XL, and $12 for 2XL and 3XL. Cash or check can be made out to "DPAB".

On Tuesday afternoon, Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School held a grand opening for the H3 room, a new calming space for students featuring alternative seating, stress balls, and meditation guides among other items designed to allow students a reset before returning to class. The room was built in partnership with MindPeace, a logal organization which advocates for access to high quality mental healthcare for all children in Greater Cincinnati.

On Tuesday, February 13, author and illustrator Will Hillenbrand will spend the day in Deer Park. During the school day, Hillenbrand will meet with students grades K through 4, as he shares his Bear and Mole series, Bear and Bunny (authored by Daniel Pinkwater), and the Big Bear books by Maureen Wright.

Just hours apart on Friday night, a pair of Deer Park High School boys' teams solidified their place in Deer Park history and a spot on a banner in the DPHS Gymnasium which will hang forever. The two squads each clinched Cincinnati Hills League titles on Friday night.
