Deer Park Schools Releases Quality Profile that Defines the Educational Value of its Schools

The Quality Profile is sponsored by the Alliance for High Quality Education

Deer Park Community City School District, along with nearly 60 school districts throughout Ohio, today released a comprehensive companion to the state’s district report card. Called a “Quality Profile,” the report includes additional accountability measures that are not captured by the state report card, but define a high quality education.

“At Deer Park Schools, our staff knows the great things this district offers to its students, which is why we decided to release a quality profile. This profile offers our community and the State of Ohio a window into our schools and shares with them what we already know: Deer Park places a great value on our children’s education and we want every student to excel and achieve their future aspirations,” said Jeff Langdon, Superintendent at Deer Park Community City School District.

This Quality Profile helps to evaluate the effectiveness of a school district beyond standardized testing measures. The content is based on six categories: Academics, arts, student leadership and activities, fiscal stewardship, parent and community involvement, and student services.

Participating districts reached out to residents and educators to determine factors they value in their students’ education that are not being measured by the state. These conversations resulted in a more comprehensive profile that measures those education components the community considers most important.

Now in it’s third year of development and being released statewide for the second time, the Quality Profile is sponsored by the Alliance for High Quality Education, a statewide education consortium that works to improve educational opportunities for students and to represent member districts on matters of educational policy and funding.

The state report card does not have a release date because of changes made to the state testing program. The Deer Park Community City School District’s Quality Profile will provide the community with their first look at current information to assist them in assessing the district’s progress.
