Deer Park Choir Members Chosen for Select Honor Choir
District 14 Honor Choir represents Hamilton and Clermont Counties
Three talented Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School Choir students were selected to participate in this year's District 14 Honor Choir!
Mickaylah Whitley, Hanna Mofield and Dawn Moore had the honor of rehearsing with the top vocalists from other choirs within Hamilton and Clermont County schools. According to Deer Park Choir Director Elizabeth Tierney, the repertoire chosen for this event was an extremely challenging, yet wonderful experience!
Students were to rehearse with their choir director and as an individual before rehearsing with the entire ensemble. The honor choir rehearsed two evenings at Milford High School and one Saturday afternoon with the guest conductor. Then, on Sunday, they gave a spectacular performance at Milford High School. The learning process is concentrated in that it is a quick timeframe to learn and perform tough music. It takes a great amount concentration, dedication, and self discipline to be successful in this type of event. Rest assured that our Deer Park singers did just that!
The guest conductor this year was James Bagwell, Music Director for the May Festival Youth Chorus in Cincinnati. Mr Bagwell was recently featured on the radio program From the Top. He frequently appears as guest conductor for orchestras around the country and abroad, including the Jerusalem Symphony, Tulsa Symphony, and the Indianapolis CHamber Orchestra. For three seasons he was Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir.
We're so proud of Deer Park singers who participated in the D14 Honor Choir! Way to represent Deer Park!
