CINCINNATI, Ohio —When Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School resumes classes in August, there will be a new principal at the helm. Deer Park Community City School District will name Bob Winterberger interim principal for the 2021-22 school year of Deer Park Jr./Sr. High (pending board approval).
"Mr. Winterberger has an outstanding track record of improving school district performance through setting high expectations and forming great relationships with his staff, students, and the families of the school," Deer Park Superintendent Jay Phillips said.
Winterberger will be replacing Shane Hartley who leaves for Forest Hills to become their new Director of Teaching and Learning. Mr. Hartley served the district for two years as principal and three years as the assistant principal at Deer Park Jr./Sr. High.
"I want to thank Mr. Hartley for his tireless work and commitment to Deer Park Schools over the past 5 years," Phillips said. "We wish him the best at Forest Hills."
Mr. Winterberger is no stranger to Deer Park Schools. During the 2019-20 school year, Mr. Winterberger served as the interim assistant principal at Amity Elementary and during the 2020-21 school year, he served as interim assistant principal at the Jr./Sr. High School covering for Assistant Principal Mindy Robertson while she was out on maternity leave.
Mr. Winterberger has served as an educator for over 30 years starting as a teacher in Lakota Local Schools and then serving as a building principal in both Lakota Local Schools and West Clermont Local Schools.
"I feel very fortunate that we have such an experienced, positive, and supportive leader to step into this important role for us," Phillips said. "We are extremely excited to have him aboard."
