Best-Selling Author Ellen Potter Lectures Deer Park Schools Students on Writing Process
On March 3, best-selling author Ellen Potter spoke to Deer Park Schools students via Zoom about the writing process, sharing insights on how to find story ideas, develop characters, handle writer's block, and the power of revision.
Ellen Potter is an accomplished author, with multiple award-winning books to her name. Her engaging and inspiring lecture on the writing process was an incredible opportunity for students to learn from a master in the craft of storytelling.
During the interactive session, Potter shared her personal journey to becoming a writer, offering practical advice on how to generate story ideas, develop well-rounded characters, and overcome the challenges of writer's block. She also emphasized the importance of revision, encouraging students to see it as an opportunity to refine their work and make it the best it can be.
The lecture was attended by Ms. Jamie Wagner's sixth grade class at Amity Elementary. Many of the students found the session incredibly informative, and some even expressed interest in pursuing writing as a career.
