Deer Park Board of Education Seeks Applicants for Open Board Seat
Deer Park Community City School District announces a vacancy on the Board of Education following the resignation of board member Kara McCormick, effective May 23, 2025.
The Board of Education would like to thank Mrs. McCormick for her dedicated service to the students, staff, and community of Deer Park.
In accordance with Ohio law, the remaining members of the Board will appoint a qualified individual to fill the vacant seat. The appointed board member will serve the remainder of Mrs. McCormick’s term, which ends on December 31, 2025. A new board member will be elected to a full four-year term during the November 2025 general election.
The Board is seeking applicants who are committed to public education and the success of all students. Candidates must reside within the Deer Park Community City School District and meet the legal qualifications to serve as a school board member.
Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and a brief resume to Superintendent Jay Phillips at phillips.j@dpccsd.org by Friday, May 30, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
The Board will review applications and conduct interviews with selected candidates. The appointment will be made during an upcoming public Board of Education meeting.
