What's New?

A Message from the Principal

Hello Deer Park Families!

DP Nation had a fantastic week with various achievements. Lucy Heringer emerged as the winner in the bowling sections, scoring an impressive 515 overall and a remarkable 227 in a single game. She will be representing The Cats at the districts in Dayton on Tuesday, February 20th. Jon Mil also performed well, securing 9th place in the sectionals. He will represent The Cats in Dayton for the districts on Wednesday, February 21st. We wish both of them the best of luck in their upcoming competitions.

In the winter guard competition, our junior high team secured 2nd place, while our high school team secured 3rd place over the weekend. Congratulations to both teams for their outstanding performances.

Lastly, the junior high students had a memorable night at the dance. We would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Hills and everyone involved in organizing the event. Please see the attached photos to witness the fun-filled evening.

Building Spotlight

On February 29th, Mr. Toman's Anatomy Class will be taking a field trip to Christ Hospital with high school students from various schools in the Cincinnati area. The highlight of the trip will be witnessing a live open heart surgery, during which the surgeon will actively engage with the students by providing explanations and walking the students through the surgery. This incredible opportunity promises to be an unforgettable experience for our exceptional students.

Building News

No School- February 19th

Just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday, February 19th in observance of President’s Day.

Conference Information

Parent-teacher conferences serve as a crucial platform for open communication and collaboration between parents and teachers. These conferences provide an opportunity for parents to discuss their child's progress, strengths, and areas for improvement with their teachers. Teachers, on the other hand, can gain valuable insights into a student's home environment, learning style, and any challenges they may be facing. This exchange of information allows both parties to work together in the best interest of the child's education. Parent-teacher conferences also foster a sense of partnership and trust, as parents feel more involved and informed about their child's academic journey. Ultimately, these conferences play a vital role in enhancing student success and building a strong school-home relationship. We hope to see you on February 29 or March 1. Please click on the link to schedule a visit.

Celebrate Excellence Award: Nominate an Outstanding Educator

Deer Park Community City Schools is proud to announce Celebrate Excellence 2024!

The annual “Celebrate Excellence” recognition program is a tradition founded by the Hamilton County Educational Service Foundation and the event has been the Foundation’s main fundraiser since 2006.  The purpose of the event is to recognize “Educators of the Year” from nearly every public school district in the Cincinnati area.  Each individual school district submits their own top educator (including teachers, counselors, administrators, psychologists, etc.) to be honored at the annual Celebrate Excellence breakfast.

The Foundation is very proud to be hosting the annual Celebrate Excellence Breakfast. This event brings together K-12 education, university, business and civic leaders to pay tribute to this impressive group of educators. Please help us pay tribute to this impressive group of educators by nominating an educator you would like to see recognized for their contributions as a role model for students.

Provide as much information as possible about your nominee on the form.  Identify the qualities and characteristics that make him/her honorable, give examples, and state specifically how he/she has had a special impact on the lives of his/her students.  Anecdotes and quotes from students are welcome!  No additional materials, such as resumes, letters of support, or recommendations are necessary.

Characteristics of an excellent educator might include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrates a high commitment toward student achievement
  • Has the ability to challenge students to the next level
  • Is seen by others as genuine and sincere
  • Makes a positive difference in the classroom, school, and community
  • Demonstrates empathy for everyone
  • Strives to improve personally and professionally, and encourages students to as well
