Deer Park Jr/Sr High School Wildcat Weekly: January 15, 2023

What's New?

A Message from the Principal

Hello Deer Park Families! Happy Sunday!

Scarlet and Gray Week was a huge success and we couldn't have done it without the participation and enthusiasm of our students, parents, and staff. It ended on Friday with an amazing pep rally that featured students getting to pie staff members in the face, cracking eggs on their heads and a basketball game with seniors vs staff.

Our seniors also won the first ever GOAT Spirit Competition. The energy was amazing and it carried over to the game Friday night. The gym was packed and the student section was rocking. There really is no place like The Park!

We also want to give a special thank you to Lauren Troxel and all of the staff, students, parents, and anyone else who volunteered their time to help with this week!

You can view all of the photos from the pep rally at the link below!

Building Spotlight

A big congratulations goes out to the students of the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. Students submitted their “Do Good December” video and project to a contest competing with other schools across the county. “We want to see students' Do Good December projects come to life and reward their efforts to make an impact in the community this season!”

Deer Park was announced as the “official winner” of the Chick-fil-A “Do Good December” social media competition. Much thanks and appreciation goes out to the talented Mr. Jake Snyder who was able to document each step of their project and produce a stellar video. His hard work, time, and professionalism helped the Deer Park Chick-fil-A Leader Academy secure the win!

OMEA Honor Band Festival

Last weekend, over 180 of Cincy's finest musicians gathered at Princeton Varsity Village for the 2023 OMEA district 14 Honors Band Festival. Deer Park was very well-represented, sending the most students from our school in more than 30 years!

Students prepared music over an intense, short timeline, with guest conductors from across the Midwest, culminating in a concert Sunday afternoon.

Congratulations go to the following fine musicians for their talent and commitment to the Fine Arts:In grade 8: Ella Corum and Abby Spangler In grade 7: Finn Borer, Johnny Felix, Riley Miller, and Savannah Brookbank. Deer Park is PROUD of you!
