Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School Wildcat Weekly: November 12, 2023

What's New?

A Message from the Principal

Hello Deer Park Families!

It is hard to believe this is the last full week before Thanksgiving. Our staff and students are definitely looking forward to a nice break.

I am so excited for our 8th grade students headed to Washington D.C. on Monday. This is one of the great trips students can have during their school career. Thank You to Ms. Sullivan and Mr. Hubbard for doing all of the planning and preparation for the trip. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures and the great stories from our kids and staff.

Building Spotlight

Friday and Saturday our High School Students presented our fall play, "Oz".

"Oz" is a spellbinding tale from author Don Zolidis that weaves together the classic story of a young girl's extraordinary journey to the land of Oz, filled with unforgettable characters and astonishing twists.

Reeling from her sister's death, Beth suddenly finds herself journeying through a world suspiciously resembling the film The Wizard of Oz. But with the yellow brick road sold to foreign investors after a financial meltdown, the Scarecrow reveling in his ignorant bliss, the Cowardly Lion acting like a paranoid sociopath, and the Tin Man embracing his emotional numbness, Beth wonders what role she plays in this classic story gone awry.

As always our students were amazing. Enjoy some photos of our outstanding cast.

New Safer Ohio School Tip Line

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine recently announced several enhancements to the state's free Safer Ohio School Tip Line (1-844-SAFEROH) that will make it easier for Ohioans to report school safety concerns.

In addition to calling and texting the tip line, Ohioans anywhere in the state now can report school safety information through a new smartphone app and online web form.

The new Safer Ohio School Tip Line smartphone app, available both on iOS and Android devices, and the online web form include pre-populated prompts to help users quickly upload information.
