Band Performance at OMEA State Finals
Last Sunday I had the opportunity to travel to Piqua HS to watch our band and color guard compete in the OMEA State competition. Right before our students started to perform it started raining. That rain continued throughout their performance. I was amazed at our students' focus and determination as they moved flawlessly, threw rifles and flags up in the air and caught them and sounded like the top rated band that they are. I was not the only one impressed. The judges rated our students superior in every category as well as overall. It was also the first time in school history that we have been rated superior three years in a row. Thanks to Mr. Bauer, Mr Vetter , Ms Livingston and everyone else that had a part in preparing our student to succeed at such a high level. This is DP Nation at its best!

Staff Shoutout
Staff Member: Mr. Matt Suddendorf Position: Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School Choir Director Student Submission: He cares so much about the choir/music program and the students. He creates an environment of inclusivity and comfort. As a student, I love being in his class because of the atmosphere around the room. I always know that I can put everything aside and just immerse myself in the music for those 45 minutes. It's your turn to shout out a Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School staff member! We are blessed to have one of the best staff to work with day in and day out at Deer Park Jr/Sr High School. We praise them everyday for all the amazing things they do for our kids and our community! We want to give you a chance to do the same! If you would like to give a shout out to any staff member, please fill out this form so we can celebrate them! Staff Shoutout |
