Deer Park Jr/Sr High School Wildcat Weekly: September 17, 2023

What's New?

A Message from the Principal

Hello Deer Park Families!

Homecoming week is a highly anticipated event for students, alumni, and the entire community. It is a time when the school comes alive with school spirit and pride. The week is filled with a variety of activities and events that bring people together to celebrate their shared experiences and memories. From Spirit Week to the Friday pep rally and homecoming parade, to the football game and tailgating parties to the homecoming dance and alumni reunions, there is something for everyone to enjoy. It is a time to reconnect with old friends, cheer on the Wildcats, and create new memories. Homecoming week is a time of celebration, unity, and a reminder of the strong bonds that tie the school community together. We hope you will choose to be a part of all the fun!!

John Vander Meer
Principal
Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School

Building Spotlight

A grant funded program, called Harbor, reached out to Deer Park to get student interest to enroll in a career soft skills online pilot program. Thanks to Suzy Beck, Mandy Stevens, and Stacea McKeever, Deer Park students are occupying 36 seats out of the 50 seats available throughout Hamilton County. Working on this soft skills program, students are getting paid to participate through the federal grant.

Please continue to follow our Wildcat Weekly for more opportunities for your students as we explore career pathways and potential job opportunities.

Conference Information

Parent-teacher conferences serve as a crucial platform for open communication and collaboration between parents and teachers. These conferences provide an opportunity for parents to discuss their child's progress, strengths, and areas for improvement with their teachers. Teachers, on the other hand, can gain valuable insights into a student's home environment, learning style, and any challenges they may be facing. This exchange of information allows both parties to work together in the best interest of the child's education. Parent-teacher conferences also foster a sense of partnership and trust, as parents feel more involved and informed about their child's academic journey. Ultimately, these conferences play a vital role in enhancing student success and building a strong school-home relationship. We hope to see you on September 28th or 29th Please click on the link to schedule a visit.
