Note: Due to expected inclement weather, the K.I.D.S. Walk-a-Thon fundraiser originally scheduled for Friday, May 12th has been rescheduled to take place on Monday, May 15th. All other schedules for the day of the event will remain the same.

Keep Improving Deer Park Schools (K.I.D.S.) is excited to announce its annual Walk-a-Thon fundraiser, to be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Harry Yeaggy Family Stadium.

This event aims to raise funds to support the continuous improvement of Deer Park Schools, with all proceeds going towards various school projects. The late Tom Griswald started the initiative in 1997, and the Walk-a-Thon has since become a beloved community event that attracts participants of all ages.

The Walk-a-Thon will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School, where participants will walk around the track. There will be music, popsicles, and fun for all ages, with all proceeds going towards K.I.D.S.'s mission to enhance the Deer Park Schools learning environment.

Since its inception in 1997, K.I.D.S. has raised over $150,000 to support a range of school projects, including technological advancements, campus improvements and athletic facility upgrades. The organization is committed to continuing this tradition of supporting Deer Park Community City Schools and providing students with the best possible educational experience.

"We are proud to honor the legacy of Tom Griswald, who started this fundraiser with such passion and dedication," said Deer Park Superintendent Jay Phillips. "We invite everyone to join us in celebrating his legacy and supporting K.I.D.S. and Deer Park Community City Schools."
