Dear Amity Families,

We are off to a great start at Amity! Thank you to all of our students, staff, and families for helping make the beginning of the school year such a positive one. It has been wonderful to see everyone back at Amity, settling into routines, working hard, reconnecting with friends, and making new friendships along the way.

This year, we are excited to introduce a new special at Amity: Discovery Lab! Discovery Lab brings together library skills, technology, creativity, and career exploration in a fun, hands-on way. Students will have opportunities to build a love of reading and research, strengthen their digital literacy and technology skills, and work together on engaging projects. They will also explore different careers and begin making connections between their own interests, talents, and problem-solving skills and the many possibilities for their future. We are excited to see our students explore, create, ask questions, and discover new things throughout the year!

Thank you again to our entire Amity community for such a great start to the school year. We are looking forward to another great week of learning!

Amity Parent Information Nights

We invite our Amity parents and guardians to join us for Parent Information Night on Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27.

Parent Information Night is an opportunity to hear directly from your child’s teachers about what students will be learning this year, along with important classroom routines, expectations and other information to help make the 2026-27 school year a successful one.

Wednesday, August 26 – Preschool through Grade 3

• 5:00 p.m. – 3rd Grade
• 5:30 p.m. – Preschool & Kindergarten
• 6:00 p.m. – 1st Grade
• 6:30 p.m. – 2nd Grade

Thursday, August 27 – Grades 4-6

• 5:00 p.m. – 5th Grade
• 5:30 p.m. – 6th Grade
• 6:00 p.m. – 4th Grade

We hope you’ll join us for this opportunity to connect with our Amity staff, learn more about the year ahead and better understand the routines and expectations that will help your child succeed.

2025-26 Amity School Times:

Arrival Times:

• Students eating breakfast doors open at 7:45 a.m. at the cafeteria entrance.  Breakfast is $2.00. 
• All doors open at 8:00 a.m.  
• School starts at 8:10 a.m.  (Students are Tardy at 8:11 a.m.)

Dismissal Time: 

• All students will be dismissed at 2:50 p.m.

Preschool Arrival and Dismissal Times:

• Preschool:
  • AM Preschool at Amity is Mon.- Fri.  from 8:30 am until 11:00 am  
  • PM Preschool at Amity is Mon.- Thurs.  from 11:45 am  until 2:15 pm

Shuttle Bus and Transportation: 

The district is bringing back the shuttle bus for the upcoming school year!

UPDATE: The Holmes Shuttle is currently full, while the St. John’s Shuttle still has a few spots available. We will continue accepting applications for both shuttle locations. Once a shuttle reaches capacity, additional applicants will be added to a waitlist.

Attendance, Arrival, and Dismissal Information

Cell Phone Policy

We understand that students are starting to get cell phones in the later grades within Amity. Please help us in talking to your student about the following expectations prior to the start of school. This year Amity Elementary students will be expected to turn their cell phones off when they get to Amity in the morning and keep them off until the end of the day, this includes while waiting for the shuttle.  We believe this will help eliminate distractions throughout the academic day. All students are issued a chrome book at the beginning of the school year; there is not a need for students to access their cell phones during the school day for academic purposes. If students need to connect with you during the school day, they are welcome to use the phone in the front office to call you.

We will continue to utilize FinalForms in an effort to help simplify your life!  Please login to FinalForms at https://deerpark-oh.finalforms.com to update any new information or to confirm that there are no changes for the 2026-27 school year. If you do not have a home computer, please use one of Amity’s computers during the Meet and Greet located in the PDC or visit the local library where computers are available for public use.

Schoology

The Schoology Learning Management System offers a tremendous amount of information in a user friendly version. You will be able to communicate with your child’s teachers, check homework and grades, and find teacher resources through teacher Schoology pages.

2026-27 PDF District Calendar

Each year, the Deer Park Board of Education approves the district's yearly calendar, which can be found on the Deer Park Schools website. This calendar includes official school dates, holidays, and breaks. Additionally, a printed event calendar will be sent home with your student during the first week of school. For your convenience, you can access the PDF calendar using the link provided below.
