From the Desk of Mr. Drouhard
Dear Amity Families,
With our first full week under our belt, it feels like we never left. Our teachers and students have been working hard to establish routines and delve into our academics. As a school, we rolled out our "Make It A Great Day At Amity" positive expectations for students K-6. Our teachers shared these expectations, and then Mrs. Warman and I visited every classroom to follow up. We hope that your student has had a wonderful 9 days thus far, with many more ahead. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if they are facing any challenges. We have a dedicated team of educators here to provide assistance!
Thanks,
Josh

MAP Testing
MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing in reading, reading fluency and math will start occurring over the next couple of weeks. We took these tests in the fall as a baseline and will take them in the spring to check progress along the way. This will encompass all of our grades at Amity. This is not a high stakes test, like the Ohio State Tests, but we do always want our students to do their best. These online tests allow us to understand where students are currently in the tested subject area, so that we are better able to tailor how we teach them. I just wanted to keep you informed that this will be occurring in our classes.
