The Amity Weekly Minute: September 3, 2023

What's New?

From the Desk of Mr. Drouhard

Dear Amity Families,

I'm always amazed when we turn the page on another month. With the shift into September, we start getting into the groove with our academics. I would encourage you to check in on your child's progress during this school year during our conferences on Thursday, September 28th and Friday, September 29th. This is a great time to hear about your child's strengths and areas for growth that we will work on. Please mark your calendars.

I hope you have a great Labor Day celebration surrounded by friends and family!

Take care,
Josh

In Case You Missed It

MAP Testing

MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing in reading, reading fluency and math will start occurring over the next couple of weeks. We took these tests in the fall as a baseline and will take them in the spring to check progress along the way. This will encompass all of our grades at Amity. This is not a high stakes test, like the Ohio State Tests, but we do always want our students to do their best. These online tests allow us to understand where students are currently in the tested subject area, so that we are better able to tailor how we teach them. I just wanted to keep you informed that this will be occurring in our classes.

Amity Fall Pictures

Amity will have its Fall picture day on Thursday, September 21st. Please see the flier below from Schoolhouse Photos for details regarding how to order pictures.
