Marching Band

Our HS Band consists of two units with students participating in both a Marching Band and a Concert Band. The Marching Wildcats consist of a horn line (flutes, clarinets, tubas, low brass, trumpets, saxophones etc…any marching horn), a drum line and pit (mallet instruments) percussion as well as a very talented Colorguard (flags, rifles and sabers) and two field commanders who conduct the group. Matt Suddendorf leads this group with assistance from Joe Vetter, Scott McFarland, Symon Jones and a talented list of technicians. 

The Marching Wildcats have gone to State competitions for the past 20+ years usually bringing home Superior Ratings for our school district. The award-winning Marching Wildcats is the largest student organization; almost 25% of the DPHS student body participates in the band/guard. The Deer Park Marching Wildcats are the most visible ensemble of the comprehensive music program offered at Deer Park HS. The marching band competes in several OMEA competitions in the fall on Saturdays as well as performs  the half time show at all home football games and most away games supporting the team! This group has also been invited every four years to participate in the Magic Music Days at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida.

Evening rehearsals will resume on most Mondays & Thursdays until school resumes in August
